What is Planet4.Me?

Planet4.Me is a productivity app for scatterbrained people. It lives at planet4.me, on every device, and everyone in your household can share it. This guide lives beside it, at planet4.me/help, and from inside the app it is More → Help.

Notes, to-dos, questions, dates, people — you write them down wherever you happen to be, and they show up where they belong. Nothing to file. Nothing to maintain. Nothing to lose. Groceries too: it learns what you buy and how often, and puts things back on the list before you run out.

Two kinds of thing

The app keeps two kinds of thing apart, on purpose.

  • A to-do is a one-shot commitment. Completing it takes it off the list.
  • A regular is something you buy on a rhythm. Checking it off records a purchase and lets the app work out when it will be needed again.

Everything else — notes, questions, people, tags, dates — grows out of what you write. A note that says ask @sam: which tile? has asked Sam a question and put Sam in People, without you opening either screen.

Two things it will never do

Mark anything late. A date can pass with something still open, and it stays exactly where it was, in the same quiet voice as everything else. No red, no badges, no overdue pile. The date is a fact; the guilt was the design flaw.

Guess loudly. The list learns from your household's own purchases, and it only puts something back when it is confident. A hunch goes on a small "Might be missing" shelf under the list, with its reason, where you can take it or leave it.

What it is not

It is not a chat, and it is not a project tool. There are no assignments, no deadlines, no statuses and no notifications nagging you about them. A to-do is somebody's because its text names them as doing it, and yours when it names nobody; a thing is due on a day because its text says so; and a day that has gone by is just a day that has gone by.

Who it is for

A household — a family, a flat, a couple, one person with too much to remember. Everyone signs in with their own Google account and joins the same workspace by one invite link, and each person can belong to more than one household. See Households and workspaces.
